Bid now to own a piece of Western Bulldogs history.
The Western Bulldogs 2021 Indigenous Guernsey, designed by Nathan Patterson, tells the family story of former Western Bulldogs 206-game player Lindsay Gilbee.
The guernsey will be worn by the players for Sir Doug Nicholls Round, on Friday May 28 against Melbourne.
Gilbee worked closely with renowned artist Nathan Patterson to produce the striking artwork, which is based on his family story of the Boandik people of South Australia.
On the front of the guernsey, the middle of the design features the Blue Lake (Waawar), with people gathering along its banks. Below that are footsteps of the traditional owners, as they move across waterholes gathering fresh water from the beautiful limestone coast.
The three gum leaves represent connection to Country, while the boomerangs and spears symbolize traditional hunting practices with kangaroo, emu and goanna tracks.
The back of the guernsey depicts three meeting places, which represent Lindsay's family, community and the Club. The possum footprints represent Lindsay's totem, with gum leaves.
Proceeds from this auction will go directly to an Indigenous Community Program of LindsayÕs choice and the Western Bulldogs Nallei Jerring Koori Youth Leadership Program.
Please allow 4 weeks for your item to be sent from the date of auction ending.
Guernsey's are sold in an 'as is' condition and may have marks, rips, and stains.
A Buyers Premium of 10% (ex GST) will be applied to the winning bid.
Standard postage available at $15 Australia wide, or $40 International.
